Ranchi, May 13: Officials reported that 43.80 per cent of voter turnout was recorded by 1 pm in the ongoing polling for the four Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand on Monday.
Polling commenced at 7 am and will continue until 5 pm for the Singhbhum, Lohardaga, Khunti, and Palamu Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand, with stringent security measures in place, marking the initiation of the first phase of elections in Jharkhand.
Until 1 pm, Singhbhum had a voter turnout of 43.83%, Khunti recorded 47.41%, Lohardaga had 43.46%, and Palamu registered 41.85%.

India’s fourth phase overall voter turnout of 40.32% till 1 pm
By 1 pm on Monday, the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections witnessed a voter turnout of 40.32% across 96 constituencies spread over 9 states and one Union Territory.
The voter turnout varied across different states during the fourth phase of Lok Sabha elections. In Andhra Pradesh, it stood at 40.26%, while Bihar recorded 34.44%. Jammu and Kashmir witnessed a turnout of 23.57%, followed by Jharkhand with 43.80%. Madhya Pradesh saw a relatively higher turnout at 48.52%, whereas Maharashtra registered 30.85%. Odisha recorded a turnout of 39.30%, while Telangana had 40.38%. In Uttar Pradesh, the turnout was 39.68%, and West Bengal topped the list with 51.87%.
