Dhanbad, August 21: Renowned martial arts expert Ranjeet Kesri from Dhanbad has been awarded the prestigious 8th Degree Black Belt by the Japan-based International Karate Association.
Japanese Shotokan Karate organisation confers honour on Kesri
Nihon Shotokan Karate-Do Furinkazan, a prominent Japanese organization dedicated to Shotokan Karate, has conferred this rare honour (Hachi-Dan) on Kesri. The award was personally presented by Shihan Masahiro Motomura, head of Nihon Shotokan Karate-Do Furinkazan, Japan.
With this achievement, Kesri joins an elite group of martial artists in Jharkhand who hold this distinguished rank in martial arts.

Kesri is coach at IIT ISM Dhanbad
A senior karate master in the state, Ranjeet Kesri currently serves as the karate coach at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indian School of Mines (ISM) Dhanbad, where he trains engineering students and scholars in martial arts.
In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Kesri is also the honorary president of the International Shotokan Karate-Do Kyokai, a certified body under the Karate India Organization (KIO). Since 2016, he has been an official member of the International Karate Masters Association, Japan.

4 decades of karate experience
Kesri has dedicated more than four decades to practising karate, beginning his journey with the first degree of Black Belt (Shodan) in 1988. Over the years, he has trained thousands of boys and girls in martial arts, many of whom have gone on to earn their own Black Belt degrees.
