Jharkhand Sports: NTHA hosts U-12 boys’ Grassroots Hockey Festival

Jamshedpur, Oct 28: Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) in association with East Singhbhum Hockey Association successfully conducted the U-12 Boys’ Grassroots Hockey Festival 2024 from October 16 to 26.

The event brought together 48 talented grassroots players from Tata Steel Foundation (TSF), divided into four teams, each receiving dedicated attention and skill-building training. The festival, designed to ignite interest in hockey among young athletes, focused on foundational drills and techniques.

The festival concluded with an exciting internal match held on October 26, where Team Red emerged as champions, while Team Blue finished as runners-up in a spirited contest. Team Green demonstrated remarkable determination and secured the title in the hardliners’ category.

The 10-day camp aimed to foster enthusiasm for hockey among the younger generation by equipping players with essential skills, boosting their confidence, and encouraging their growth within the sport.

The Naval Tata Hockey Academy, known for its commitment to grassroots development, views this initiative as an essential step toward nurturing the next generation of hockey talent in India.

This initiative marks an ongoing commitment by NTHA, Tata Steel Foundation and East Singhbhum Hockey Association to promote hockey at the grassroots level, providing young players with the resources and guidance necessary to foster their interest and skills in the sport.
