Ranchi, February 21: Former DGP Neeraj Sinha, appointed as Chairman of the Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC), resigned today amidst an investigation into the leakage of combined graduate-level examination question papers.
Three persons, including Under Secretary Md Shamim and his two sons, have been arrested so far.
Sinha, appointed on September 14 last year, cited “personal” reasons for quitting the post. “There is much more in life than a job,” he mused.

Sinha, who retired on February 12 last year, is a 1987 batch Jharkhand cadre IPS officer.
Notably, a special investigation team (SIT), constituted by the Jharkhand Government, is probing the question of the leakage case.

The FIR was lodged by the Commission’s In-Charge Undersecretary, Madhumita Kumari, after the question paper was leaked before the commencement of the examination on January 28.
Notably, students protested across the state regarding the issue of the question paper leak. They had also vandalised the JSSC office, including the Chairman’s official vehicle.
