Dhanbad, March 31: The Jharkhand Table Tennis Association has announced plans to organize three major ranking tournaments along with the state championship in 2025.
Key Decisions at AGM
The decisions were taken during the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Dhanbad Club. Along with hosting ranking tournaments, the association also resolved to conduct coaching camps to enhance players’ skills.
Association’s senior vice-president Saket Sinha, who presided over the meeting, and state secretary Samarjeet Singh stated that the first ranking tournament will be held in Godda district, the second in Hazaribagh, and the third in Ranchi. The state championship will also be hosted in Ranchi.
Focus on Player Development
Samarjeet Singh, a former champion of undivided Bihar and joint secretary of the All India Table Tennis Federation, emphasized Jharkhand’s potential in table tennis. He stated that the association will conduct coaching camps to refine players’ skills and improve their stamina, enabling them to excel at national and international levels.

Dhanbad District Table Tennis Association president Aman Raj, who serves as a vigilance officer at Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL), expressed gratitude to the state association for choosing Dhanbad as the AGM venue. He said that a comprehensive, long-term plan is needed for the development of table tennis in Jharkhand.
“For this, we must all come together and work towards achieving our mission,” he said.
Committee Selections and Financial Review
During the meeting, vice-president Saket Sinha announced the nomination of selection committees for various state teams across different age groups. Secretary Samarjeet Singh presented the association’s annual report, while treasurer Neeraj Kumar provided an account of financial transactions for the 2024-25 session.
The AGM saw the presence of several notable officials, including patron Jaikumar Sinha, vice-presidents Saibal Gupta and Murari Sinha, assistant secretary Ujjwal Chatterjee, and members Sudipto Mukherjee, Rakesh Kumar Mishra, Sanjesh Mohan Thakur, Kamlesh Kumar Dubey, K.N. Singh, Sachindra Paswan, Rajesh Ranjan, Ajay Mahajan, Arun Pandey, Sandeep Saha, K.B. Shukla, and Ravindra Kumar from different districts.
