Jamshedpur, Jan 23: The 61st Annual Metalliferous Mines Safety Week Celebration in the Chaibasa region came to an end on January 21 with the final day function hosted by Hindalco Industries Limited at Ranchi.

Present during the event as chief guest was Prabhat Kumar, DGMS of Dhanbad, S D Chiddarwar, Dy. DGMS (South Eastern Zone), and dignitaries from DGMS and officials of various mines under the jurisdiction of DGMS Chaibasa region.

Vijay II Iron Ore Mine bags 10 prizes

During the concluding day function, Vijay II Iron Ore Mine under the Ore Mines and Quarries Division of Tata Steel Limited received recognition for their exemplary performance, bagging 10 prizes in various categories.

The mine was declared the winner in Overall Performance in A1 B group, showcasing its commitment to excellence across different aspects of mining operations.

Vijay II Iron Ore Mine was honored with the 1st prize in categories such as illumination, workshop and electrical safety; accident, emergency preparedness and mock drills; and implementation of SMP & SOP, use of PPE & Safety practices.

Additionally, the mine received the 2nd prize for its outstanding performance in publicity and propaganda, adopting best practices in drilling and blasting, explosive handling; plant operation and maintenance, HEMM operation and maintenance; statutory manpower, provisions & records, and VTC: training facilities/aids.

The accolades and recognition received by Vijay II Iron Ore Mine underscore their unwavering commitment to safety, operational excellence, and adherence to best practices in the mining industry.
