Ranchi, June 3: The Enforcement Directorate (ED), investigating the tender commission scam case in Jharkhand, today questioned IAS officer Manish Ranjan for the second time on Monday. Ranjan, who was posted in the rural development department as Secretary for a considerable period, was at the ED’s zonal office till the report was filed at 7.55 pm.
The ED had earlier questioned Manish Ranjan on May 28. He was summoned today with details of movable and immovable properties in his and his close relatives’ names.
Alamgir, Manish maintained silence
Notably, the ED had raided the premises of Sanjeev Lal, PS of Minister Alamgir Alam, and his servant Jahangir on May 6.
The agency recovered Rs 35.50 crore along with many documents and an Excel sheet, which contains complete details of the people to whom the commission amount allegedly went.
Based on this sheet, the ED summoned Manish Ranjan. During questioning on May 28, Manish Ranjan expressed ignorance on all these questions. The ED also made him sit in front of Minister Alamgir Alam and asked him several questions. But both of them remained silent on ED’s questions.
