PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, March 23: An upper air cyclonic circulation persists over East Bangladesh and adjoining areas, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. A trough aloft also runs roughly along longitude 90°E, north of latitude 24°N, between 3.1 km and 9.6 km above mean sea level, indicating continued atmospheric instability over the region.

Despite these systems, no weather alerts have been issued for Jharkhand. Conditions are expected to remain largely dry across the state till mid-week.

During the past 24 hours, light to moderate rainfall along with thunderstorms was recorded at isolated places. Hailstorms were also reported from pockets, including Ranchi, Godda, and Dhanbad, indicating localized convective activity.

The highest rainfall of 28.8 mm was recorded at Namkum in Ranchi. Temperature variations remained moderate, with Seraikela recording the highest maximum temperature at 32.1°C, while Latehar reported the lowest minimum temperature at 12.5°C.

With the current systems gradually weakening, a shift towards stable and dry conditions is expected in the coming days.
