Ranchi, June 17: The Jharkhand government on Tuesday carried out a major administrative reshuffle, transferring and posting 88 officers of the Jharkhand Administrative Service (JAS) across various departments, municipal bodies and district administrations. The transfers were notified by the Department of Personnel, Administrative Reforms and Rajbhasha.

Among the key changes, Gyanendra Prasad, Joint Secretary in the Health Department, has been appointed Municipal Commissioner of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC), while Bijay Singh Binkha, Project Director of the Jharkhand Tribal Development Society, has been posted as Municipal Commissioner of Giridih Municipal Corporation.

Amit Kumar has been appointed Additional Municipal Commissioner of Adityapur Municipal Corporation, Pankaj Kumar as Additional Municipal Commissioner of Hazaribagh Municipal Corporation and Sanjay Kumar as Additional Municipal Commissioner of Medininagar Municipal Corporation.

The reshuffle also saw several officers posted to the Election Department as Deputy Election Officers, while others were assigned responsibilities as Additional District Magistrates, District Panchayat Raj Officers, District Land Acquisition Officers, Sub-Divisional Officers, Circle Officers and Block Development Officers.
The government notification stated that officers posted as Sub-Divisional Officers and Executive Magistrates would exercise powers under the provisions of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023.
