Jamshedpur, Feb 21: Acting on a tip-off, police unearthed an unauthorised crackers-manufacturing unit at Golpahadi Bustee under the Parsudih Thana area on Wednesday.

While busting the illegal crackers factory, the police arrested the factory owner and a staff.

The cracked factory was running in the house of Rajendra Singh alias Babbu in the densely-populated Golpahadi Bustee behind the Golpahadi Gurudwara.

Police teams raided the factory

Though the illegal crackers factory was running for a long time, the arm was taking no action against it, causing a section of local residents to resent the administrative callousness.

But the probationary DSP, Sunny Vardhan took the initiative and ordered for a raid at the illegal factory having set up a joint team of police officers from the Parsudih and Sundernagara Thanas.

During the raid, the police team confiscated a large number of crackers and semi-finished crackers besides seizing a huge quantity of explosives as well as equipment meant for crackers-manufacturing.

Accused reveals supply chain and buyers

The accused Rajendra Singh has divulged before the police about the source of obtaining raw materials for the crackers and also the buyers of the finished products.

The accused Rajendra Singh alias Babbu is believed to have revealed information about a few other places in the adjoining Jugsalai Thana area where crackers are being manufactured in an unauthorised way.
