Jamshedpur, Dec 31: “Singhbhum Panjika” for 2024 was unveiled in a function held at Utkal Association in Jamshedpur on Saturday.

Published in the Odiya language, the Singhbhum Panjika or calendar continues to keep its credential in meeting the needs of celestial navigation in pursuance of holding marriage, organising Puja and other important rituals on suitable dates in the Odiya households across this region for decades.

Calendar with impeccable details

Though the calendar provides impeccable details as to any auspicious event, Badal Bhuyan, who compiles, edits, and finally gets the calendar published, distributes its copy free of cost, giving thousands of people belonging to Odiya comment an opportunity to fulfil their religious commitment.

The Singhbhum Panjika is sought after as the new year begins. Odiyas live across the steel city and in the adjoining Seraikela-Kharsawan and in West Singhbhum besides in the fringe areas of Odisha.

The Singhbhum Panjika was unveiled jointly by Dr Sridhar Pradhan, president of the Utkal Association; Prof Sanjay Patro, vice president and dean academy, XLRI; Tarun Mohanty, general secretary; Manish Dash, treasurer and Badal Bhuyan, who is a marvellous writer and also the vice president of the association.
