Jamshedpur, Jan 15:  The cold wave conditions made a comeback in Jharkhand with minimum temperature witnessing an abrupt fall in several places.

Capital Ranchi and Bokaro located in central Jharkhand today recorded a minimum temperature of around six degrees Celsius, four to five notches below normal.

Daltonganj today recorded a minimum temperature of 6.7 degrees Celsius while Steel City Jamshedpur today recorded a minimum temperature of 9.2 degrees.

Yesterday, Latehar, Lohardaga, Khunti, Garhwa, Dhanbad, Simdega, Chatra and Gumla had recorded a minimum temperature between 4-5 degrees Celsius.

Weathermen said the strong north-western currents and snowfall in northern parts of the country during the last couple of days have intensified the chill.

According to weathermen, isolated cold wave condition is expected to prevail in western parts of Jharkhand for the next 48 hours.

IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre also issued an alert of moderate to dense fog in northern parts of Jharkhand during the next 24 hours.

Westerly to North-Westerly winds prevailed over the state during the past 24 hours.

Satellite pictures suggested a Cyclonic circulation over South Bangladesh and neighborhood extending upto 1.5 km above the mean sea level.
