Jamshedpur, April 6: The heat wave condition prevailing in Jharkhand for the last two days will continue today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

Today’s forecast said that heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places over eastern parts of the state.

Moreover, nights would be warm at isolated places over south-eastern parts of the state.

Meanwhile, the maximum temperature has already touched an oppressive 43 degrees Celsius at several places including Godda and neighbouring Seraikela.

The maximum reading has touched the 42-degree Celsius mark in Jamshedpur, Deoghar and several other places.

Many places including Garhwa, Chaibasa and Daltonganj recorded around 41 degrees Celsius in the past 24 hours.

The Met office forecast suggests some relief from tomorrow.

Tomorrow, Sunday thunderstorms and lightning accompanied with gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) are likely to occur at isolated places over the state.

Thundershowers activity is also predicted in isolated places for Monday and Tuesday.

Weathermen said the thundershowers activity would help in bringing down the maximum temperature by three to four degrees Celsius.
