Jamshedpur, Jan 9: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert of dense fog and predicted a rise in minimum temperature in the next two days.
Weathermen said dense fog prevailed in several parts of Jharkhand today including Jamshedpur, Khunti, Chaibasa, Seraikela-Kharsawan and Ranchi.
Such dense fog is expected to prevail for the next one or two days, said a Met official.

No significant synoptic system prevailed over Jharkhand.
Northerly to North-Westerly winds prevailed at lower levels.
Dry weather prevailed over the state in the past 24 hours while moderate to dense fog over northern parts and shallow to moderate fog were observed at isolated places over the rest parts of the state.
The highest maximum temperature of 26.0°C was recorded at Jamshedpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 12.4 °C was recorded at Chaibasa.
