Jamshedpur, May 9: Many places across the state are expected to experience light to moderate rain today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

Weathermen said a trough was running from cyclonic circulation over northeast Rajasthan to south Assam across Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal at 1.5 km above mean sea level.

The trough/wind discontinuity from east Vidarbha to north Tamil Nadu today runs from northeast Rajasthan to south interior Karnataka across central Maharashtra and north interior Karnataka at 0.9 km above mean sea level.

A forecast of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms was also issued for a few places over the state in the next two days.

The thundershowers activity during the past two days has resulted in a drop in maximum temperature in most places across the state.
