Jamshedpur, March 18: The maximum temperature in most parts of Jharkhand will witness a drop today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.
Many places including Jamshedpur today woke up to overcast conditions because of the impact of a low-pressure trough passing through northern parts of the country.
Weathermen said the maximum temperature which had climbed to as high as 35 degrees Celsius in some places in the last 48 hours will come down to around 30 degrees or below that today.
Today’s satellite picture showed the formation of clouds over Jamshedpur and adjoining Chaibasa, Seraikela-Kharsawan, Khunti, Ranchi and many other places.
The Ranchi Meteorological Centre also predicted light thunder and rainfall activity in isolated parts of Jharkhand today.
Meanwhile, some parts of Gumla, Khunti, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Jamshedpur and Simdega experienced light to moderate thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by rain last evening.
At some places, the wind speed was recorded between 30 and 40 kmph.
