Jamshedpur, Jan 17: Several places across Jharkhand today woke up to gloomy and overcast conditions with an abrupt rise in minimum temperature.
Weathermen said the adverse weather might also result in light rain at isolated places over the south, north-eastern and adjoining central parts of the state today and on Thursday.
Jamshedpur, Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad and several other places witnessed an abrupt rise in minimum temperature due to overcast conditions and foggy weather.
Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 10.5 degrees Celsius while in Jamshedpur the minimum temperature rose to 13.3 degrees Celsius.

Daltonganj recorded a minimum reading of 9.7 degrees Celsius while Bokaro today recorded 10.5 degrees Celsius.
Chaibasa in the adjoining West Singhbhum district today recorded a minimum temperature of 12.2 degrees Celsius.
Several other districts across the state witnessed a rising trend in night readings while day’s temperature witnessed a fall due to cloud cover.
Satellite pictures suggested that a cyclonic circulation over South Bangladesh and the neighbourhood was lying over Bangladesh extending up to 3.1 km above mean sea level.
Yesterday, the highest maximum temperature of 27.4°C was recorded at Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 3.1°C was recorded at Gumla.
