Jamshedpur, May 1: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued an alert of severe heat wave conditions in several parts of Jharkhand today.

A bulletin issued by the Met centre said severe heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places of West Singhbhum, East-Singhbhum, Seraikela-

Kharsawan, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Deoghar, Jamtara, Godda, Pakur, Dumka and Sahibganj districts of the state on Wednesday.

Heat wave conditions would prevail at isolated places of Garhwa, Palamu, Chatra, Ranchi, Ramgarh and Khunti districts today.

A severe heat wave condition is declared when the maximum temperature is over five degrees above normal.

According to the forecast, the relentless heat wave will continue to prevail at isolated places of Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum and East Singhbhum districts of the state tomorrow, May 2.

Heat wave conditions would also prevail at isolated places of Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum and East Singhbhum districts of the state on May 3, Friday.

Meanwhile, statistics revealed that Baharagora in East Singhbhum was the hottest place in Jharkhand on Tuesday with the local Met Centre recording a maximum temperature of 47.1 degrees Celsius.

Jamshedpur and adjoining Seraikela recorded 45.5 degrees Celsius while the capital Ranchi recorded around 40 degrees Celsius on Tuesday.

Godda, Latehar and several other districts recorded oppressive temperatures hovering between 45-46 degrees Celsius.
