Stadiums Under Review

Kumar reviewed the existing infrastructure at Birsa Munda Football Stadium and called for immediate upgrades to ensure the venue meets international standards. He instructed the Sports Department to fast-track the takeover of the stadium from the Ranchi District Administration so renovation work can begin without delay.

Push for Player Development

The minister reiterated the state government’s commitment to nurturing local talent and providing world-class training resources. “We want our players to shine on national and international platforms and make Jharkhand proud,” he said.

Kumar also visited the Morhabadi Indoor Badminton Stadium and urged officials to prioritise pending upgrades previously directed by the Chief Minister.

Khelgaon in Focus

Further inspections took place at the Khelgaon complex, covering the athletics stadium, indoor stadium, and badminton arena. During his visit, Kumar met with representatives of the Jharkhand State Sports Promotion Society (JSSPS) and reviewed their progress through a detailed presentation.

He emphasized the need to complete all renovation and training-related projects swiftly, envisioning Khelgaon as a future hub for hosting national and international sporting events.
