Ranchi, Nov 19: The ruling JMM today alleged that the BJP leaders and supporters are distributing money to lure voters in Dumka and Deoghar ahead of the final phase of assembly elections in Jharkhand.

JMM general secretary Supriyo Bhattacharya, in a letter to the Election Commission, alleged that these leaders are distributing money at Agrasen Bhawan in Dumka and using several hotels in Deoghar for this work in violation of the model code of conduct.

He also alleged that the BJP is campaigning online to ‘mislead’ the voters during the ‘silent’ period.

On the other hand, Godda MP posted a picture on his X handle, saying एक रहोगे तो सेफ़ रहोगे, बिकोगे तो मरोगे (If you stay united you will be safe, if you sell out you will die.) He also posted a picture of JMM candidate from Madhupur Hafizul Ansari with notes of Rs 500 in the background.

JMM-led govt will come to end on Nov 23

Meanwhile, BJP’s state spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led government will come to an end on November 23.

The JMM does not want the blame to fall on Hemant Soren. That is why it is making excuses every day,” he said and added that Jharkhand Mukti Morcha workers are trying to create an atmosphere of terror in the Barhait area.

Pratul said that the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha had won the election in 2019 held under the supervision of the Election Commission.

“But this time, the same Election Commission is being questioned to make excuses for the defeat,” he said.

He said that some officers keep working as a toolkit in this government. “When the Election Commission removed a District Magistrate from election work, he was made the District Magistrate of the capital. The BJP always says that officers should follow the rules and laws because governments keep coming and going. But the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha-led government has tried to make the officers its agents,” he alleged.

Pratul said that those who are accusing Babulal Marandi of buying Niranjan Rai should look into their conscience. “Niranjan Rai Ji supported Babulal Ji based on policies against this corrupt government. This made Jharkhand Mukti Morcha upset. “However, the JMM did not clarify how much was the deal for the withdrawal of JKLM party candidates in Gandey and Garhwa,” he added.
