THE JHARKHAND STORY NETWORK
Ranchi, August 23: On a day when thousands of BJP workers pledged to throw out the Hemant Soren government, the JMM held a march across the State to demand its due from the Centre.
JMM general secretary and spokesman Vinod Pandey said that due to the step-motherly treatment being meted out to Jharkhand by the BJP-led central government, the people of Jharkhand voluntarily participated in the “Jharkhandi Adhikar March” and also pointed out the difference between the words and actions of the central government.
“In the election meetings, the BJP has been talking about giving two crore jobs per year and Rs 15 lakh in the account of each person since the first term of the BJP government, which is far from reality till now. The common man has been getting trapped in the trap of BJP’s populist announcements till now,” he said.
BJP’s anti-Jharkhand mentality
“Contrary to the declarations of BJP, its anti-Jharkhand mentality or in other words, anti-tribal-indigenous mentality can be understood from the central government postponing or suppressing the decisions taken for the Jharkhand government. Whether it is the matter of Sarna Dharma Code passed by the Jharkhand government led by Hemant Soren, the matter of 1932-based local policy or the matter related to reservation for SC, ST, OBC, burning issues of interest to Jharkhandis were kept pending or entangled in legal complications by the BJP-led central government,” he alleged.
“The BJP, which got the job policy of Jharkhand made keeping in mind the interests of Jharkhandis cancelled, is working to provide immense benefits to its corporate friends by selling the government properties of India. Reservation is being sacrificed by throwing Indian enterprises into the fire of privatization,” he said.
“Withholding Jharkhand’s dues of Rs. 1.36 lakh crore from the Central Government and giving grants to the election-prone and BJP-ruled states is proof of sacrificing the interests of Jharkhand and the Central Government’s step-motherly attitude towards Jharkhand,” he said.
