Jamshedpur, May 24: The INDI Alliance leaders who are tied to the task of garnering support for the coalition’s candidate from the Jamshedpur LS seat seemed to have become confused and deviated while wooing the electorate here.
MLA Mangal Kalindi was campaigning for Sameer Mohanty
While trying to get the support of the voters for the INDI Alliance candidate Sameer Mohanty, some of the leaders urged the people to cast their vote on the symbol of “bow and arrow” mentioning that the symbol is Lord Shri Ram’s bow and arrow.
The repeated request to put their votes on the symbol of Bhagwan Shri Ram’s bow and arrow was made by the JMM legislator from the Jugsalai assembly segment Mangal Kalindi at a JMM rally organised in Gopal Maidan on May 21.
The JMM legislator’s urge to vote on Lord Ram’s bow and arrow symbol had become a talking point among the netizens here.

Saryu Roy takes dig
Even veteran politician and Jamshedpur East legislator Sarayu Roy also made a comment on the issue.
“Now the JMM functionaries have also started taking help of Lord Ram’s bow and arrow if not Lord Ram directly for garnering votes,” Roy observed while talking to the newsmen.
Kalindi unavailable for comment
The JMM’s Jugsalai legislator Mangal Kalindi could not be contacted for his comment on the issue despite repeated attempts by this correspondent. The INDI Alliance candidate, Sameer Mohanty did not respond to the query either.
The JMM’s election symbol — bow and arrow — denotes the valour of the legendary tribal leader Birsa Munda.
“The JMM legislator’s appeal to the audience at a party rally for casting one’s vote on the symbol of Lord Ram’s bow and arrow signifies that a section of functionaries of this regional party is awestruck with a fresh wave of saffronization with Lord Ram in the mind of the masses. Otherwise, the JMM legislator who is one of the lieutenants of the ‘secular’ INDI Alliance candidate would not have deviated from the group’s usual line, ” observed a local resident Vivek Vishwakarma while talking to The Jharkhand Story.
