PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Jan 13: In a major late-night security operation, a joint team of the Ranchi Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS), Delhi Police, and Jamshedpur Police arrested three individuals from the Golmuri area of the steel city late on Monday night.

Multi-Agency Operation Based on Intelligence Inputs

The arrests followed specific intelligence inputs that had been under surveillance for a considerable period. Acting on the information, Ranchi ATS coordinated with Delhi Police and local Golmuri police to form a special task force.

The operation was executed in a planned and synchronised manner, officials said.

Suspects Lived Quietly in the Area

Sources said the three arrested persons had been living in Golmuri for several years, maintaining a low profile and leading seemingly normal lives.

However, security agencies had been receiving continuous alerts about their suspicious movements and possible links to activities concerning national security.

Swift Raid, No Resistance

Before launching the operation, security forces cordoned off the area and carried out simultaneous searches at identified locations.

The arrests were made without any resistance, and the suspects were immediately taken into custody for detailed interrogation.

Preliminary information suggests that documents and electronic devices were recovered during the searches. Officials, however, have not yet disclosed details about the nature or significance of the seized materials.

Security agencies are now examining the extent of the suspects’ network and tracing their contacts across different regions. Investigators said the case is being handled with utmost caution due to its sensitive nature.

Police Urge Public Not to Panic

Following the operation, curiosity and speculation spread among residents. Police have urged people to avoid rumours and cooperate with investigating agencies, indicating that more details may emerge after further questioning.
