Shimla, Dec 13: BJP national president Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday laid the foundation stone for the party’s new Himachal Pradesh headquarters at Majhathai, near Shimla’s Airport Road, calling it a “new source of energy” for the organisation in the state.
The ceremony, held amid strong enthusiasm from party workers, was conducted with traditional Vedic rituals in keeping with Himachal Pradesh’s cultural traditions. Five priests led the rituals during the nearly 45-minute programme, following which Nadda unveiled the foundation plaque and offered prayers.

State BJP president Rajeev Bindal briefed Nadda on the proposed building’s design, layout and functional plans. The national president also inspected the site and shared suggestions related to the structure, organisational needs and future use of the facility.

After performing the traditional Kalash Sthapana, Nadda spent time interacting informally with party workers over tea, discussing organisational preparedness and future plans to strengthen the BJP’s presence in the state.
Senior party leaders, including state in-charge Shrikant Sharma, co-incharge Sanjay Tandon, Leader of Opposition Jai Ram Thakur, former Union minister Anurag Thakur and state general secretary (organisation) Siddharthan, were present along with BJP vice-presidents and a large number of party workers.
