Dhanbad, Jan 16: The Election Commission team, comprising four members, has set the stage for the peaceful elections of the Jharkhand State Health Services Association (JSHSA) for the 2025-27 term, scheduled for January 19.

Polling Preparations and Security Measures

After the meeting, Chief Election Commissioner Dr. Lal Majhi, along with commissioners Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Dr. RK Singh, and Dr. Vikash Kumar Gupta, confirmed that ballot papers have been dispatched to all 24 districts for the upcoming polls.

Dr. Majhi emphasized that four-member polling officers have been appointed in each district to ensure a peaceful and transparent election process.

Election Posts and Candidates

The JSHSA elections will be conducted for three key positions: State Convener, State Secretary, and Vice-President of Kolhan Division. The candidates up for election include:

  • State Convener:
    • Dr. Sharad Kumar (Deoghar)
    • Dr. Sidheswar Baskey (Ranchi)
    • Dr. Santosh Kumar (Ranchi)
  • State Secretary:
    • Dr. Thakur Mritunjay Kumar Singh (Ramgarh)
    • Dr. Krishna Murari Singh (Ranchi)
  • Vice-President of Kolhan Division:
    • Dr. Shahid Anwar (Sadar Hospital Jamshedpur)
    • Dr. Jagannath Hembram (Saraikela)

Regional Voting Details

  • State Convener and Secretary: Voters from all 24 districts will participate in the elections for these positions.
  • Kolhan Division Vice-President: Only voters from East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum, and Saraikela Kharsawan will vote for this position.

Voter Statistics

A total of 1,617 eligible voters, who are state government medical officers, will cast their votes in the JSHSA elections.

Notably, Ranchi has the highest number of voters with 168, followed by Dhanbad with 115, Palamu with 100, and Jamshedpur (East Singhbhum) with 90.

  • Kolhan Division Voters:
    A total of 219 medical officers from Kolhan Division will select their vice-president, with the distribution as follows:

    • East Singhbhum: 90
    • West Singhbhum: 80
    • Saraikela Kharsawan: 49
