Chandigarh, July 9: Justice Sheel Nagu was sworn in as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in Chandigarh on Tuesday.
Punjab Governor Banwarilal Purohit administered the oath of office to Justice Sheel Nagu.
Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the oath-taking ceremony at the Raj Bhavan.

Justice Nagu was appointed as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court a few days ago.
On December 27, 2023, the Supreme Court Collegium proposed his name for the appointment.
His advancement to the position was recommended after Justice Ravi Shanker Jha’s retirement from the role of Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
