Bengaluru, July 17: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced that the Karnataka Cabinet has sanctioned a bill requiring 100 per cent reservation for Kannadigas in private sector Group C and D positions.
The bill also stipulates that 50% of management positions and 75% of non-management positions must be given to local candidates.
The decision was made during the Cabinet meeting on Monday.

“The Cabinet meeting held yesterday (Monday) approved a bill to make recruitment of 100 per cent Kannadigas mandatory for ‘C and D’ grade posts in all private industries in the state,” Karnataka CM posted on X adding that “We are a pro-Kannada government. Our priority is to look after the welfare of the Kannadigas”.
Sources in the law department stated that the ‘Karnataka State Employment of Local Candidates in the Industries, Factories and Other Establishments Bill, 2024’ will be presented in the Assembly on Thursday.
