Bengaluru, May 27: One month after going abroad, Prajwal Revanna, the Janata Dal (Secular) MP from Hassan, Karnataka, stated on Monday that he would appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) on May 31. The SIT is investigating multiple allegations of sexual harassment against him.

In a video statement broadcast on Kannada TV channel Asianet Suvarna News, Prajwal Revanna mentioned that he would personally appear before the SIT at 10 AM on Friday, May 31, to cooperate with the investigation and respond to these allegations. He expressed his faith in the judiciary and his belief that he would be proven innocent through the court of law.

“On 31st Friday, 10 am, I’ll appear before SIT and provide all information related to investigation, I’ll cooperate with the SIT investigation, I have a lot of faith in judiciary, I believe in god and judiciary, that’s why I’ll appear on Friday 31st in front of the SIT,” Revanna stated in a self-made video.

There was no immediate confirmation in this regard from Prajwal’s party Janata Dal (Secular) or his family.

Prajwal accused of sexual exploitation of many women

Prajwal (33), grandson of JD(S) chief and former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) candidate from Hassan Lok Sabha constituency, has been accused of sexually exploiting several women.

Prajwal had reportedly gone to Germany on April 27, a day after voting on Hassan Lok Sabha seat and is still absconding.

The SIT had sought information about Prajwal’s whereabouts from Interpol through the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), for which Interpol has issued a ‘Blue Corner Notice’.

A special court constituted to hear cases against MPs/MLAs had issued an arrest warrant against Prajwal Revanna on May 18 after the SIT filed the application.

The Congress-led Karnataka government has urged the Central government to cancel Prajwal’s diplomatic passport.
