Khiangte joins as new Jharkhand chief secretary

Ranchi, Dec 7: Lalbiaktluanga Khiangte today assumed charge as the new chief secretary of Jharkhand.

Khiangte, a 1988 batch IAS officer, was holding the post of Director General of Sri Krishna Institute of Public Administration (SKIPA) before it.

He has replaced Sukhdev Singh, who was transferred on Wednesday, in a surprising turn of events.  Singh has been posted as the Director General of SKIPA.

Notably, Singh relinquished his charge within half an hour of the notification issued by the Personnel Department.
