Patna, March 26: The All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB) staged a nationwide protest in Patna against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, with Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav extending their support and joining the protest.

Addressing the gathering, Tejashwi Yadav strongly opposed the bill, calling it “unconstitutional and undemocratic.” He assured the protestors that both he and Lalu Yadav firmly stand by their side in resisting its passage.

“We have opposed this bill in Parliament, Vidhan Sabha, and Vidhan Parishad. Today, we even brought an adjournment motion demanding a discussion, but the House was adjourned. We will do everything possible to ensure this bill is not passed,” he stated.

Tejashwi further emphasized his party’s commitment to constitutional values and the Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb, vowing to resist any attempt to undermine them. Criticizing the BJP-led government, he accused it of working to divide the country, weaken democracy, and erode the Constitution.

He also alleged that certain political parties were supporting the bill out of political greed but urged people to remain united, asserting that a collective fight would ultimately lead to victory.
