Barkagaon (Hazaribagh), Sept 25: The amount of compensation to be received under section 19 in the Gondulpara mining project will be Rs 24,56,986 per acre. Locals will get employment opportunities.

According to a release issued by Adani Enterprises, the district and the state government will get a revenue of about 500 crore rupees per year from this project.

161.99 acres of land is to be acquired in Chandaul village for the rehabilitation of the people affected by the project. For this, an amount of Rs 478 crore to be given as compensation to the peasants has been deposited in Hazaribagh Collectorate.

It is noteworthy that the Coal Ministry of the Government of India has allotted the Gondulpara mine to Adani Enterprises through competitive tender. The process of applying Section 19 under land acquisition has been completed as per the appropriate conditions, which is an important step towards starting mining. This step has opened the way for opening another mine in Jharkhand.

Notably, 199 coal mines in Jharkhand play an important role in the progress and energy security of the country by producing 15.6 crore tonnes of coal annually.

Under option one, Rs 10 lakh will be given per family, so that they can go and reside somewhere else. Under the second option, a new ready-made house will be given in the rehabilitation colony. And under the third option, a plot of land will be given in the rehabilitation colony and Rs. 7 lakhs will be given instead of a house in the rehabilitation colony.

Employment opportunities

Employment opportunities will also be provided to the displaced families, under which the affected families can choose one of employment, compensation, and monthly payments as per their priority. The compensation framework is decided as per rules in consultation with the affected families and the administration has a provision for a job for one member of the affected family as per their qualification and the company’s requirement after proper training and skill development. In return, the affected families can take Rs. 5 lakhs in a lump sum or can choose to get Rs. 2,000 per month payment for 20 years.
