Jamshedpur, Dec 6: Severe cyclonic storm Michaung is expected to trigger light rain at many places over Jharkhand today.
Weathermen said inclement weather conditions would prevail in several parts of Jharkhand especially southern and central parts.
Many places today woke up to overcast conditions.
The severe cyclonic storm over the West-central Bay of Bengal along and off the south Andhra Pradesh coast moved northwards and had a landfall close to the south Andhra Pradesh coast and crossed the south Andhra Pradesh coast close to Bapatla.
The severe cyclonic storm had a maximum sustained wind speed of 90-100 kmph gusting to 110 kmph.
Very light to light rain occurred at isolated places over the state during the last 24 hours.
The highest rainfall recorded was 14.2 mm at Kolebira (Simdega). The highest maximum temperature 30.2°C was recorded at Godda while the lowest minimum temperature of 16.4°C was recorded at Ranchi.
