Ranchi, March 16: The Election Commission today announced the dates and full schedule for the Lok Sabha election 2024. The election will be held in seven phases, and the results will be announced on June 4. Voting in the first phase will be conducted on April 19. The seven phases will cover 543 constituencies.
In Jharkhand, the elections beginning on May 13 will be held in four phases. The byelections in the Gandey Assembly segment will be held on May 20.
.The Election Commission had announced the Lok Sabha election schedule in 2019 on March 10, when the Model Code of Conduct came into effect. The main parties contesting the Lok Sabha polls in Jharkhand are the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), JMM and the Congress.
