Jharkhand News: Loyola School Telco celebrates a decade with theatrical showcase

 

Jamshedpur, Dec 6: Loyola School, Telco, Jamshedpur, celebrated its 10th anniversary on Friday with a grand Annual Day function that showcased the institution’s artistic spirit, cultural richness. The event drew participation from students, teachers, and parents.

Chief Guest Dr. Sanjay Kumar, Head of Tata Motors Hospital, and Guest of Honour Dr. Priya Amitabh, Senior Paediatrician, graced the occasion.

Dignitaries in attendance included Rector Fr. Michael Dhanaraj, Fr. Vinod Fernandes (Principal, Loyola School Bistupur), Administrator Fr. Gerry, Principal Charanjeet Ohson, co-ordinators Reshma and Zeenat Maria Sundi, and moderator Colleen Xavier.

‘The Blue Umbrella’ Steals the Show

The highlight of the evening was an enchanting stage adaptation of Ruskin Bond’s beloved story The Blue Umbrella.

The first in-house production of the novella was met with roaring applause for its emotional depth and compelling message of truth, compassion, generosity, and selflessness.

The production stood out for its exceptional attention to detail—right from the lifelike chulha glowing in the home setting to the tiny shimmering lights of Ram Bharose’s shop.

The immersive staging reflected months of meticulous planning and a passion for authentic storytelling. The young performers delivered memorable portrayals, winning hearts with their confidence, grace, and emotive expressions.

The children with red umbrellas, the elegant peacocks, and especially the girl portraying the Blue Umbrella were widely applauded. Her expressive performance, from her first step on stage to the final bow, left the audience spellbound.

The play featured Kritika as Binya, whose portrayal held the audience’s attention. Mohammad Yusuf appeared as Bijju, bringing energy to the role.

Abhijeet played Ram Bharose with a steady and clear performance, while Adarsh took on the role of Rajaram with assurance.m Avni played the mother and conveyed the role with restraint.

Shaurya, Hitesh, and Deepshikha performed as the priest, the schoolmaster, and the schoolmaster’s wife, each contributing to the flow of the story.

Raghav appeared as the tea-shop helper, and his portrayal remained memorable for its simplicity.

The cultural segment also featured energetic dance and musical performances that kept the audience thoroughly engaged and uplifted.

Words of Inspiration

Addressing the gathering, Chief Guest Dr. Sanjay Kumar congratulated the school on completing a decade of excellence.

He reminisced about his school days and praised Loyola for shaping young minds with strong values and leadership qualities.

“Dream big, work hard, and success will surely follow,” he advised the students.

Principal Charanjeet Ohson expressed heartfelt gratitude to all guests, parents, teachers, and students for making the celebration a resounding success.

With heartfelt performances, enthusiastic participation, and a powerful message at its core, Loyola School Telco’s 10th anniversary celebration truly became an evening to cherish—one that highlighted the school’s enduring legacy and its vision for the future.
