Ranchi, Nov 28: Varun Ranjan, the Deputy Commissioner of the capital Ranchi, has been replaced. Manjunath Bhajantri, a 2011 batch IAS officer, has now been appointed as Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi. Regarding this, the Department of Personnel, Administrative and Official Language issued a notification on Thursday.
Bhajantri, earlier posted as Ranchi DC, before the Assembly elections, had been transferred following the Election Commission’s order.
According to the notification, Manjunath Bhajantri, posted as Chief Executive Officer, Jharkhand State Livelihood Promotion Society (JSLPS), Ranchi, is transferred and appointed as District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner of Ranchi. Bhajantri will hold the additional charge of Settlement Officer, Ranchi along with his functions till further orders.
Varun Ranjan, a 2014 batch IAS officer, has been appointed and posted as Managing Director, Jharkhand Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation, Ranchi (JIIDCO) till further orders. He will hold the additional charge of Mines Commissioner, Jharkhand.
