Jamshedpur, Dec 17: The dominating north-westerly wind resulted in plummeting minimum temperature across Jharkhand today.

Most places experienced crisp and clear weather with a downward trend in night reading.

State capital Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 8 degrees Celsius while Daltonganj recorded 8.2 degrees Celsius and Bokaro recorded 8.1 degrees Celsius.

Chaibasa recorded as low as 7.6 degrees Celsius today.

Today’s minimum temperature in Chaibasa was 4.4 degrees less than the average normal.

Khunti, Gumla and Chatra too witnessed an abrupt fall in minimum temperature.

No significant synoptic situation exists over Jharkhand, said weathermen.

Meanwhile, dry weather prevailed over the state during the past 24 hours.

The highest maximum temperature of 27.8°C was recorded at Chaibasa while the lowest minimum temperature of 6.7°C was recorded at Garhwa in the past 24 hours.
