The weather department has forecast thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds across most parts of the state over the next week.

Wind speeds of 50-60 kmph are likely at isolated places over eastern and adjoining central Jharkhand on June 18. Gusty winds of 40-50 kmph, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, are expected at isolated locations across the state from June 19 to June 24.

Officials expressed hope that the expected advancement of the monsoon and the forecast rainfall activity would help reduce the widening seasonal deficit by the end of this month.
