Jamshedpur, Oct 13: The southwest monsoon is finally on its way out of Jharkhand, marking the official end of the rainy season in the state.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), conditions are favourable for the complete withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from Jharkhand and adjoining regions of Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Sikkim, and Telangana within the next 24- hours.

At present, no significant synoptic system is prevailing over Jharkhand.

The line of withdrawal of the monsoon currently passes through 28°N/86°E, Raxaul, Varanasi, Jabalpur, Akola, Ahilyanagar, Alibag, and 18.5°N/72°E.

The IMD forecast indicates mainly clear skies and dry weather across most parts of Jharkhand over the next few days.

Maximum temperatures are expected to hover around 28–29°C, while minimum temperatures may dip to around 18–19°C, signalling the gradual onset of post-monsoon conditions.

With the retreat of the southwest monsoon, residents can expect pleasant mornings and slightly cooler nights, paving the way for the arrival of the festive and winter season in Jharkhand.
