PINAKI MAJUMDAR

Jamshedpur, Feb 4: Shallow fog and mist are likely to appear briefly during the early morning hours at isolated places across Jharkhand over the next few days. However, dry weather and mostly clear skies are expected to dominate during the rest of the day, according to the Meteorological Department.

Weather Outlook for the Coming Days

As per the latest forecast, February 4 may witness shallow fog or mist at isolated locations during the morning hours, followed by partly cloudy skies later in the day.

Similar weather conditions are expected on February 5 and 6, with morning fog giving way to mainly clear skies as the day progresses.

On February 7, shallow fog or mist may again occur at isolated places during the early morning, while dry weather is likely to continue across the state.

Synoptic Conditions Explained

Meteorologists said a Western Disturbance is currently seen as a cyclonic circulation over north Synoptic Pakistan and adjoining Punjab, extending between 3.1 km and 4.5 km above mean sea level. The associated trough in the middle and upper tropospheric westerlies lies around 5.8 km above mean sea level, roughly along longitude 70°E and north of latitude 25°N.

Additionally, an induced cyclonic circulation over northeast Punjab and adjoining areas, extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level, continues to persist.

Despite the presence of these upper-air systems, no significant weather activity has been triggered over Jharkhand.

No Rain or Severe Weather Expected

“Dry weather has prevailed across the state, with light fog or mist reported at isolated places during the morning hours,” an official at the Meteorological Centre said, adding that there is no immediate indication of rainfall or severe weather in the coming days.

Travel Advisory

Stable weather conditions are expected to keep daytime temperatures comfortable. However, early mornings may remain slightly hazy due to fog, particularly in low-lying and rural areas.
Residents have been advised to exercise caution during early morning travel until visibility improves.
