Jamshedpur, May 30: Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA), Jamshedpur, successfully wrapped up its 8-day Grassroots Hockey Festival 2025 with a spirited closing ceremony held at its campus.

Organized under the aegis of the Hockey Association of East Singhbhum, the event celebrated young talent, community participation, and the power of grassroots sports.

The festival featured four teams — Pokhari, Patamda, Birsa Nagar, and Parsudih — offering a platform for budding hockey players to showcase their skills and passion.
Team Pokhari was crowned Champion, demonstrating exceptional performance throughout the tournament. Team Patamda and Team Birsa Nagar secured the 1st and 2nd Runners-Up positions, respectively. The Fairplay Award went to Team Parsudih for their exemplary sportsmanship.

Individual honors were also presented:

* Best Scorer: Naman (Patamda)
* Best Player and Emerging Player awards were given to standout performers from each team.
The event was graced by Chandreyee Majumdar, Vice President of Hockey Jharkhand and Secretary of the Hockey Association of East Singhbhum, as chief guest.
She lauded NTHA’s efforts in nurturing grassroots talent. She was joined by Gurmeet Singh Rao, Project Director of NTHA, and Manjit Singh, guest of honour.
Volunteers were recognized with certificates for their dedication, and coaches were felicitated for their mentorship and guidance.

A grassroots coach spoke on the importance of long-term player development and NTHA’s vision for shaping future hockey stars.
The ceremony concluded with a vote of thanks, a group photo session, and refreshments for all, reinforcing the academy’s commitment to growing Indian hockey from the grassroots level.
