New Delhi, Feb 16: Officials stated on Friday that a delegation from the National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) has submitted its report to President Droupadi Murmu. The delegation had visited Sandeshkhali in West Bengal to investigate allegations of harassment of women by TMC supporters.

Numerous women in Sandeshkhali have alleged that TMC leader Shajahan Sheikh and his followers forcefully seized large portions of land and subjected them to sexual harassment.

They are calling for Sheikh’s immediate arrest given that he has been on the run and evading police since a mob attacked an Enforcement Directorate (ED) team last month when they raided his home in connection with a purported ration scam.

After visiting Sandeshkhali on Thursday, the NCSC group returned to Delhi to hand over the President its report, according to the officials.
