New Delhi, June 5: A significant meeting of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was convened at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s residence in Delhi on Wednesday.
The meeting saw the attendance of BJP president JP Nadda, BJP leaders Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, along with allies such as Janata Dal (United) chief Nitish Kumar, Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader N Chandrababu Naidu, Shiv Sena chief Eknath Shinde, Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy, Janasena Party chief Pawan Kalyan, Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan, and Nationalist Congress Party (Ajit Pawar faction) leader Praful Patel, and several others.
Apart from this, AJSU chief Sudesh Mahto, RLD’s Jayant Chaudhary, Apna Dal (Sonelal) leader Anupriya Patel and HAM leader Jitan Ram Manjhi were also present in the meeting.
Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu hand over their parties’ letters of support to BJP
The outline of the formation of the new government was discussed in the meeting. In the meeting, Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu handed over their parties’ support letter to BJP.

According to the information, after the meeting, the leaders of BJP and its allies can meet the President today and stake claim to form the NDA government for the third time under the leadership of Narendra Modi.
It has been said that the leaders of all the parties included in the NDA will reach Rashtrapati Bhavan at 7:45 pm. The NDA meeting lasted for an hour at the PM residence.
Allies hand over list of ministries to BJP
According to the information, NDA allies have handed over the list of ministries to BJP. It is being said that the Telugu Desam Party has demanded six ministries and the post of Speaker. JDU has demanded three ministries, Chirag two (one cabinet, one independent charge), Manjhi one, and Shinde two (one cabinet, one independent charge). Jayant has said that they were promised a ministerial post before the elections. Anupriya Patel also wants a ministerial post.
NDA parliamentary party meeting will be held on 7 June at 11 am. Narendra Modi will be formally elected as the leader in the meeting. Modi will take oath as Prime Minister for the third time on 8 June.
President dissolves 17th Lok Sabha
Meanwhile, following the Union Cabinet’s recommendation, President Droupadi Murmu dissolved the 17th Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
“The President accepted the advice of the Cabinet on June 5, 2024, and signed the Order dissolving the 17th Lok Sabha in the exercise of the powers conferred upon her by Sub-Clause (2) of Article 85 of the Constitution,” the Rashtrapati Bhavan’s statement released on Wednesday said.
