Ranchi, October 24: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Saturday called upon party workers to work towards bringing the BJP back to power in Jharkhand, asserting that the state remained a stronghold of the party and that determined efforts could secure an electoral victory.
Addressing the inaugural session of the BJP Jharkhand unit’s two-day state executive committee meeting at Haveli Banquet Hall in Sukurhutu, Kanke, Ranchi, Nabin launched a sharp attack on the Congress and the state government, accusing them of undermining constitutional values, neglecting students and youth, and protecting infiltrators at the expense of citizens’ rights.
He urged party workers to raise public issues, strengthen the organisation at the grassroots level and continue democratic protests against alleged corruption, deteriorating law and order, and administrative disorder in the state.
Nabin Accuses Congress of Undermining Constitutional Values
Nabin alleged that the Congress had done the most to undermine the dignity of the Constitution, despite frequently invoking it in political debates. He cited the Emergency and alleged violations of democratic and moral values during previous Congress governments.
He also accused Congress leader Rahul Gandhi of working as a “toolkit” for anti-national forces allegedly operating from abroad. Nabin further criticised Gandhi for what he described as disrespect towards constitutional institutions.
Targeting opposition parties over questions raised about the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, the BJP president alleged that they were more concerned about protecting infiltrators than safeguarding citizens’ rights.
He also criticised previous Congress governments over the medical examination system, claiming that it had been dominated by mafias before his party’s government corrected the system. Referring to student protests in Jharkhand, he alleged that Congress leaders had failed to support students when they were raising their grievances.

Says BJP Workers Can Win Jharkhand
Drawing a comparison with West Bengal, Nabin said BJP workers had fought against adverse circumstances there and achieved electoral success under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
He asserted that Jharkhand, which he described as a traditional BJP stronghold, could also be won if party workers remained committed to the task.
Nabin said the BJP’s ideology, leadership and organisational presence extended across the state, and expressed confidence that party workers were prepared to bring the BJP back to power.
He also invoked the legacy of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, under whose leadership Jharkhand was created, saying the BJP had a responsibility to develop and strengthen the state.
The BJP president urged workers to translate organisational decisions into action and discharge the responsibilities entrusted to them with sincerity. He called for sustained engagement with people at the village and assembly constituency levels.

Focus on Students, Youth and Law and Order
Nabin directed BJP leaders to highlight issues affecting students and young people and to pursue democratic struggles against the state government both on the streets and in the Assembly.
He called for identifying constituency-level issues and mobilising public support on matters concerning law and order. He also announced the party’s resolve to fight against alleged injustice towards students and the prevailing administrative disorder.
Describing BJP politics as a round-the-clock commitment, he said workers should place the nation first and themselves last. He urged them to extend the benefits of the party’s policies and programmes to people beyond its traditional voter base.
Nabin also praised the Modi government’s record in public service and economic development, arguing that India had maintained its growth momentum despite economic uncertainty across the world.
Highlights Tribal Identity and Jharkhand’s Legacy
Referring to Jharkhand’s tribal heritage, Nabin invoked the legacy of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and noted that November 15, the state’s Foundation Day, was also observed nationally as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas.
He credited the BJP-led government at the Centre with recognising tribal contributions and cited Droupadi Murmu’s election as India’s first tribal woman President as an important milestone.
Nabin also recalled that the Ayushman Bharat scheme had been launched from Jharkhand and highlighted the reach of central welfare programmes in the state despite the BJP not being in power there.
Aditya Sahu Accuses State Government of Corruption
Addressing the meeting, Jharkhand BJP president Aditya Sahu welcomed Nabin on behalf of the party’s workers and urged them to work towards replacing the current state government with a BJP-led administration.
Sahu praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s welfare initiatives, saying they had prioritised the needs of poor families. He also credited the Centre with achieving what he described as significant progress in tackling extremism and improving security.
Launching an attack on the state government, Sahu alleged that corruption had reached alarming levels and accused it of failing to address issues affecting students, unemployed youth, pensioners and local job seekers.
He alleged that mineral resources were being exploited, jobs were being sold to outsiders for money, and students who protested against alleged injustices had been implicated in false cases. He also accused the state government of misusing the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, or PESA.
Sahu called upon BJP workers to intensify their grassroots outreach, visit villages and mobilise people against the government. He also urged the party’s Mahila Morcha to play a leading role in the campaign against alleged corruption.
Traditional Welcome and Organisational Review
Nabin received a traditional Jharkhand welcome featuring the lota-pani ritual, drums, flower showers, Paika dance and Chhau performances, reflecting the state’s cultural and tribal heritage.
The executive committee meeting began with floral tributes to BJP ideologues Dr Syama Prasad Mookerjee and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya, followed by the national song, Vande Mataram. Senior leaders on the dais were presented with traditional tribal shawls and Chhau masks.
Before the executive committee meeting, Nabin held a joint meeting with presidents and district in-charges of all 31 organisational districts in Jharkhand. He reviewed organisational activities and offered guidance on strengthening the party structure and increasing workers’ participation.
The meeting was chaired by state BJP president Aditya Sahu, while state general secretary Ganesh Mishra conducted the proceedings. Leader of the Opposition Babulal Marandi and other senior leaders welcomed Nabin with a floral garland.
Those present included national co-organisation general secretary Saudan Singh, state in-charge Gajendra Singh Patel, co-in-charge Nivedita Singh, national secretary Pradeep Verma, former chief ministers Arjun Munda, Raghubar Das, Madhu Koda and Champai Soren, Union ministers Annapurna Devi and Sanjay Seth, and several current and former MPs, MLAs and party office-bearers.
