Ranchi, Dec. 28: Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that the INDIA alliance does not need a PM’s face today.
“The face is an artificial product. The public makes the face. Therefore, such controversy should not be created regarding the face of the PM of the INDIA alliance. This is not an issue for the country. The entire country knows what the country’s problems are. We are fighting our battle on issues,” he said while addressing a press conference on the completion of four years of his government.
Constitutional institutions
Answering a question related to the relief given by the Jharkhand High Court in the mining lease case, Hemant Soren said that India works under a federal structure. “Is the federal structure working with its system today? After all, why are questions being raised about constitutional institutions? The whole country is watching and understanding. Where, what and how is it happening? This country is run by law and constitution. Whether there is a law and constitution in the country or not?” he asked.
Not yet invited to Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha
The chief minister said we do not do politics of religion and caste. “We work under the philosophy of development and benefit for all. I have not received the invitation to the Ram Mandir Pran-Pratishtha program; if the invitation comes, I will go. We went to the temple, mosque, gurudwara, and church. Therefore, there is no problem in going to Ram temple,” he said.
Caste census
The chief minister said that our government will conduct a caste census. “As far as OBC reservation, mob lynching bill or any other bill is concerned, Raj Bhavan sits on it with all its might. This is happening in Jharkhand and everywhere in the country with a non-BJP government. Now, the states are going all the way to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court is issuing guidelines to the Raj Bhavan,” he said.
Regarding whether EVMs should be used in elections, Soren asked where the use of EVMs started. “Why did it stop where the use of this technology started? Every technology which raises questions about the credibility of elections in a democratic country should be avoided. If we are projecting India as a world leader, then on this basis, EVMs should be abolished, and elections should be conducted using the old system,” he said.
