Jamshedpur, Nov 10: In a major breakthrough, the police arrested notorious criminal Mohammed Adil alias Nippo with a sophisticated pistol from the Bistupur Thana area on Thursday night.
A resident of the Jugsalai locality of the steel city, Adil was nabbed from the crowded ‘Khao Galli’ near M-Road following a special operation in the night.
The arrested criminal had allegedly been to the Khao Galli with an intention to commit some crime.
“We had got a tip-off that a suspected criminal was moving around the crowded Khao Galli (a stretch of fast food sellers) in Bistupur. On the basis of the information, a special team was set up and the entire area was cordoned off by a police team for the search operation. Ultimately, the criminal was detected and arrested,” said DSP (CCR) Animesh Gupta while addressing the newsmen on Friday.
Gupta stated that on being frisked, the police found a nine MM-loaded pistol in the possession of the criminal who was later identified as Mohammed Adil. He said Adil was wanted by the Jamshedpur police for long in connection with several grievous criminal cases pending against him in separate police stations in the city.
The police officer said during the interrogation, the arrested criminal divulged that he was at the Khao Galli to commit a grievous crime.
