Beijing, June 24: In a key diplomatic engagement, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval met Chinese Vice President Han Zheng on Tuesday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. The meeting took place alongside other Heads of Delegation attending the 20th Meeting of the SCO Security Council Secretaries.

The Indian Embassy in Beijing confirmed the meeting in a post on X, highlighting Doval’s participation in the high-level interaction hosted by China. The visit marks an important step in multilateral diplomacy amid complex regional dynamics.

“On 24 June, NSA Ajit Doval called on Han Zheng, Vice-President of China along with other Heads of Delegation attending the 20th Meeting of the SCO Security Council Secretaries at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing,” India’s Embassy in Beijing posted on X.

Doval had earlier met Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi on Monday, where he strongly emphasized the need to combat terrorism in all its forms to uphold regional peace and stability.

The discussion was particularly relevant in light of India’s recent Operation Sindoor, under which India carried out precision strikes on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and PoJK in response to the Pahalgam terror attack.
