One killed, one injured in collision between truck and trailer near Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur, Nov 6: One person was killed and another seriously injured as a truck and a trailer collided head-on on the Tata-Hata road under the Potka Thana area near Jamshedpur today.

The one who was killed on the spot was the trailer driver whereas the injured was the truck driver.

The injured truck driver whose identity could not be established yet has been admitted to MGM Medical College Hospital (MGMMCH) where his condition is described as critical.

The mishap took place along Turi village, about 15 km away from Jamshedpur on Monday morning.

According to police, the empty trailer was coming from the Hata end towards Jamshedpur while the loaded truck was speeding away in the opposite direction when the collision occurred near the Turi village.

The impact of the collision was so intense that the front sides of both the heavy vehicles were damaged completely.

Incidentally, both the ill fated drivers remained trapped inside the twisted cabins of the vehicles. They were rescued after an hour-long effort by the police.

Both the victims were rushed to MGMMCH, about a half-an-hour ride from the spot, but the doctors on emergency duty declared one of them as brought dead.

OC, Potka Thana said they are trying to get the body of the trailer driver identified.
