Sukma, September 14: Officials reported that a Naxalite was killed in an encounter with security forces in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district on Saturday.
Sukma police stated that the encounter occurred early in the morning in the forested hills near Tumalpad village, under the Chintagufa police station’s jurisdiction, during an anti-Naxalite operation conducted by a joint security team.

“One Naxalite is dead and a weapon and a huge cache of Naxal-related material were recovered from the spot,” Sukma police said.
They added that the operation involved personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Bastar Fighters, both units of the state police and district forces.
The identity of the deceased Naxalite has not yet been confirmed, and a search operation is still ongoing in the area.
