One terrorist killed in ongoing encounter in J&K’s Rajouri

Rajouri, Nov 23: An ongoing encounter between terrorists and a combined force comprising the Army and J-K Police in the Bajimaal area of Dharmsal in Rajouri district entered its second day on Thursday, resulting in the elimination of one terrorist.

The eliminated terrorist is identified as Quari, a Pakistani national and a highly radicalized militant. According to the PRO Defence Jammu, Quari received training on both the Pakistani and Afghan fronts.

As per the PRO Defence Jammu, the killed terrorist was a prominent leader within Lashkar-e-Taiba. Operating in the Rajouri-Poonch region for the past year alongside his group, he is suspected to be the mastermind behind the Dangri and Kandi attacks.

The PRO Defence Jammu stated that the individual was dispatched to rekindle terrorism in the area. He possesses expertise in handling improvised explosive devices (IEDs), is skilled in operating from caves and is a trained sniper.

The encounter between terrorists and the joint forces of the Army and J-K Police in the Bajimaal area of Dharmsal, Rajouri district, is in its second day.

Sources reported that on Wednesday, an ongoing encounter with terrorists in the Rajouri region of Jammu and Kashmir resulted in the unfortunate loss of lives for four army personnel, including two officers.

Troops, including Special Forces, were mobilised to the area following received intelligence about the movement of a terrorist group in that vicinity, sources stated.
