Over 43.5 lakh voters yet to submit forms ahead of August 5 draft electoral roll in Jharkhand

Ranchi, July 28: The Election Commission has urged voters to submit their signed enumeration forms by July 29, the final day of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR), warning that names of those who fail to return the forms may not be included in the draft electoral roll scheduled for publication on August 5.

According to the latest update, the state has 2,64,63,236 registered voters for the 2026 electoral roll.

31 Assembly Constituencies Achieve 100% Digitisation

Election officials said digitisation of enumeration forms has been completed 100% in 31 Assembly constituencies, while the remaining 50 Assembly constituencies have achieved between 97% and 99% digitisation.

Over 2.20 Crore Signed Forms Digitised

Of the 2,64,61,801 enumeration forms distributed, representing 99.99% of the electorate, 2,20,20,994 filled and signed forms have been digitised so far. The names of these voters will be included in the draft electoral roll to be published on August 5.

Overall, 2,63,76,457 enumeration forms have been digitised, taking the digitisation rate to 99.67%.

More Than 43 Lakh Forms Yet to Be Returned

A total of 43,55,463 enumeration forms are yet to be returned. According to election officials, the reasons include:

  • Deceased voters: 7,61,755 (2.88%)
  • Untraceable/absent voters: 14,59,029 (5.51%)
  • Permanently shifted voters: 15,87,496 (6%)
  • Voters already enrolled elsewhere: 4,34,541 (1.64%)
  • Voters refusing to sign forms: 1,12,642 (0.43%)

Election authorities have appealed to all eligible voters who are yet to submit their signed enumeration forms to do so by July 29 to ensure their names are included in the draft electoral roll.
